I have to say XC70, because it is the perfect dad car.

Really? I’d say it’s a 240z. Since it’s a Dadsun.

Not the Corvette? That’s the typical dad car, right? :p
![]() 06/14/2015 at 21:24 |

That was an awful pun. :D

Right car, wrong trim and year...

Corvette? Reminds me of an interaction with my dad at the auto show this year:
Dad: What do the Corvettes start at?
Me: 65, I think?
Dad (noticing the balding men surrounding a grey Corvette convertible): Is that the price, or the age I can buy one at?

Dad-level pun.

Nope - Volvo S80 - the Swedish Cadillac. Safe, and not a bad drive.

Bad Dad joke with the word dad in it. Supreme dad-dom achieved.

V60 T6 AWD Polestar? If Saab was still alive, I would have said a 9-5 Aero Estate.

I don’t know, when I was a kid in Wisconsin my dad always had trucks.

Scion xB. Nimble, lots of room inside, and has a standard touchscreen radio with Bluetooth and a backup camera. Though the backseat is a good size, there isn’t any storage back there, making the car better for commuting rather than family duties. Fuel economy is about compact crossover or V6 sedan in terms of numbers, but otherwise, nice car for dads. Not to mention they’re super reliable.
(Pictured is my dad’s own 2015, a week after we bought it. Got it a couple months ago, but after 3,000 miles, including a 400 mile trip, I can say it’s a good car. He loves it.)

Well, the XC70 is the S80 but longer and with plastic bits on the outside.
![]() 06/14/2015 at 21:36 |

No, that is based on the S60, the XC70 is based on the S80. Dads need space.

As a dad with a v70R this is correct

I doubt the Vette can baby.

I hear it’s pricey though... :(

Also correct choices, I think Sweden is a recurring theme in the answers.
![]() 06/14/2015 at 21:46 |

That’s also right, we all have a different image of what dad means.

I don’t know, when I think Scion xB I immediately think either really young, or really old.

He’s in his early 50’s.

Not necessary for a midlife crisis hahaha
![]() 06/14/2015 at 21:49 |

Ah yes, it is indeed the mid-life crisis mobile.

Range Rover, or BMW X5.

This makes your argument invalid.
![]() 06/14/2015 at 22:03 |

No, that’s the cool dad car.

It seems Dad’s love wagons

I grew up in long roof turbo bricks, and I think I turned out pretty good. Volvo wagon is always a good dadcar choice.

Ford F150 Super Crew. Or any Crew cab pickup really

Gets the kids to shut up on the way home by just mashing your foot into the floor.

I don’t disagree with the XC70, but I'll throw the Jeep Grand Cherokee in the ring, because camping and fishing trips and higher ground clearance.

Nope. Wrong. E46 M3. Wait for it — Convertible. Easy to load a car seat (roof comes off) Glorious sound. Leather (hard to ruin) seats. Did I mention so sweet to drive? Best car for dads (and kids) by dads ever.

Well, it
IS
my dad’s favorite, so...

And ya know, that extra 18.4 cubic inches of trunk space helps too...

A station wagon...

I can’t argue with that logic.

The Suburban is an icon as far as family cars go.
It’s also cool enough for dad’s to like.

I forgot in my above post to mention that even an 346 won’t get you out of the gray
